STUDIO

Growing up, my Mother always had a "sewing room". More often than not, that space became a haven for clutter and debris-  never truly being just a sewing room.  In my adulthood, I've had an equally hard time finding the space that I could really call a studio.

In fact, my studio consists of two adjacent rooms where the bulk of my "play" occurs. I use the garage for some of the messier projects (fabric dying, etc.) and also use the backyard to router boards and paint when the weather is nice.

My studio started coming together in 2005, then it doubled in 2006. In the past few years, I've rearranged it several times and for now it feels "right". Here are some photos:

I paint and cut fabric and paper on this table. I always get lots of help....

Bookcases and cabinets are good "stash and stuff" places.

My sewing table has an expansion leaf. Good design for a small space.

Dressers make great storage.

The blanket is a cat resting spot. I usually have to share the chair with a cat too.
